It seems the devil wings are a new permanent addition to the game so with this in mind there is no rush to gain your wings just plod along and do a bit each day and gather your hides and you will your wings befor you know it .
When you have gathered your 300 hides you still have 2 days to wait for them to be crafted not 7 , just make sure you ask your clan to help and for each clan member that helps is 12 hours off the time needed to craft the wings and with 5 clan members able to help each day
